PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a void ratio on the surface of a hull in a frictional resistance reduction ship by providing a recess in a submerged region of an outside plating of the hull and blowing gas into water through this recess. Since a recessed portion 5a is dented with respect to the hull outside plating 1, therefore, the flow velocity of water that flows over the surface of the recessed portion 5a becomes smaller than that of water that flows over the surface of the hull outside plating 1. This increases the diameter of particles of micro-bubbles, which improves a void ratio in a turbulent flow boundary layer on the surface of the hull outside plating 1, thus effectively reducing frictional resistance during sailing.
