PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microphone which collects sounds with high S/N and smooth voice transfer characteristics even when a sound source is close to a microphone array in the space wherein a sound reflector is present. ;SOLUTION: Microphone units 11-15 are arcuately arranged facing inside an arc having its center at the sound source or a point nearer to the microphone than it and output signals of the respective units 11-15 are added. Consequently, it becomes possible to collect sounds in high S/N even from the short-distance sound source while the microphone array is used. Since the direction of the microphone units 11-15 are not uniform, even when the sound reflector is present nearby, the disturbance of the frequency transfer characteristics from the sound source 10 to the microphone device is suppressed small.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
