PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve screen yield by setting first non-uniform potential distribution, and then setting the second potential distribution of an electrode in a conductive area, and processing potential measurement of each set of the first and second potential distribution from an electric circuit for setting the place of a selected point. ;SOLUTION: This method decides the place of a selected point on a sensor equipped with an electric circuit for measuring the potential of a point on a conductive area and a controller when this electric circuit is brought into contact with a set of electrodes. The first almost non-uniform potential distribution is set on the conductive area by limiting it to the first sub-set of at least two electrodes, and adding the first potential, and the electric circuit is brought into contact with a certain selected point in the conductive area so that the first read value of the selected point can be measured. Then, the second potential distribution different from the first potential distribution is set in the conductive area by limiting it to the second sub-set of at least two electrodes, and adding the second potential so that the read value of the second potential at the selected point can be measured by the electric circuit.
