DYNAMIC IMAGE RETRIEVAL SYSTEM AND DYNAMIC IMAGE RETRIEVAL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a dynamic image at a comparatively high retrieval rate by using not only image information but also audio information, without making the scale of the system larger or complicated. ;SOLUTION: A composite index 111 consists of an image index 112 and a sound index 113 to be treated as a single composited image. In retrieving a video image, since the degree of importance of the image index 112 and the sound image index 113 differs in kinds of the video signal, the weight of the image and the sound image is easily changed to retrieve a dynamic image, by changing a ratio of the area of the image index 112 and that of the sound image index 113, thereby realizing the dynamic image retrieval system of comparatively high retrieval rate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
