PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a floor area in a workshop by raising efficiency in working of a material by a method wherein a double planing machine is arranged behind a sawing machine, and cutting is applied only to a product side of the material discharged from the sawing machine. ;SOLUTION: A lower rotary knife 31, an upper rotary knife 32, and positively driven feed rollers 38, 39 are rotated in specific directions, and when a material B is carried in via a sawing machine, in the material B, a lower surface and an upper surface on a product side B₁ corresponding to the lower rotary knife 31 and the upper rotary knife 32 are simultaneously cut and besides, a semi- finished product side B₂ can be discharged behind a double planing machine without cutting any surface. The product side B₁ is positively sent out via feed rollers 38, 39 and besides, the lower surface and the upper surface are cut with the lower rotary knife 31 and the upper rotary knife 32. However, the semi-finished product side B₂ can be discharged backward as it is via feed rollers 34, 34. Further, the semi-finished product side B₂ discharged thus is returned before the sawing machine, repetitively stripped, and can be worked to a new product side B₁ and a new semi-finished product side B₂.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
