PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a monoclonal antibody specific to apolipoprotein E4, inert to isoforms 2 and 3 of a human apolipoprotein E4, having a sufficient antibody titer, excellent in specificity and useful for immunoassay or the like. ;SOLUTION: This monoclonal antibody is practically inert to isoforms 2 and 3 of a human apolipoprotein E4, reactive to preparation in which an isoform 4 of a human apolipoprotein E4 is manifested and binds to an epitope comprising a peptide having an amino acid sequence of the formula. It is pref. to produce a monoclonal antibody specific to an isoform 4 of a human apolipoprotein E4 by incubating a hybridoma deposited as FERM P-16799 and to prepare an immunogen for obtain the monoclonal antibody by binding a carrier peptide to the C-end of an oligopeptide comprising an arbitrary amino acid sequence including an isoform 4 of a human apolipoprotein E4 and Arg in 112-th position in the isoform.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
