PURPOSE: To stabilize coke oven operation by controlling the moisture content of coal blend to be charged into a coke oven through coal moisture conditioning according to the change in the moisture characteristics due to the change in the blend proportion for the coal blend. ;CONSTITUTION: The average moisture-holding capacity (ME=Σfi.wi) of coal blend for coke is determined from the proportion fi and moisture-holding capacity wi of each product coal for the coal blend, and, based on the difference between the total moisture content MT and the average moisture content ME, the average adherent moisture content (MA=MT-ME) of the coal blend is estimated, and the quantity of heat to be introduced into a coal moisture conditioner is controlled so that the total moisture of the coal blend on the outlet side of the coal moisture conditioner comes to the sum of the average adherent moisture content and average moisture-holding capacity, thus controlling the average adherent moisture content of the coal blend on the outlet side of the coal moisture conditioner at a constant level irrespective of the variation in each product coal and its proportion for the coal blend.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
