PURPOSE:To easily and stably support the half of a booklet-type original by providing an L-shaped supporting frame freely capable of elongation and contraction at the outside of the vase end part of the main body of a scanner. CONSTITUTION:Outside of the base end of a main body 1 of the scanner, a supporting frame 6 is fitted while attaching an edge receiving member 5 so as to enable the sliding adjustment to the edge part of a plate-shaped main body 4. The half of a booklet-type original A is loaded on an original platen 2 while opening it at 90 deg. in the state of vertically setting the main body 4 of the supporting frame 6, and the single edge part of the other remaining half is supported by the edge receiving member 5 of the supporting frame 6. Thus, remaining half of the booklet-type original A can be stably supported with comparatively simple device.
