PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photographic sensitive material comprising a good cyan coupler by incorporating a 1-naphthol coupler having an oxalyl group at the 2-position and a specific group at the 5-position, and a hydrazine-based color developing agent. ;SOLUTION: The objective silver halide photographic sensitive material comprises a 1-naphthol coupler having an oxalyl group at the 2-position and a group of formula I at the 5-position, and a hydrazine-based color developing agent. In formula I, A is any one atom of N, S and O; and (i) is 1 or 2, and (i) is 1 when A is S or O and (i) is 2 when A is N; R1 is H or a monovalent substituent and, when (i) is 2, the two R1 can be the same or different. The 1-naphthol coupler is represented by formula II.
