The invention relates to a method to produce refractory material from granite sludge, at least one cement or specific binder, preferentially within ratios ranging from approximately 30% by weight of selected additive for 10% by weight of cement or binder for 60% of granit sludge, up to approximately 75% by weight of additive, for 5% by weight of cement, for 20% by weight of granite sludge, the granite sludge, additive and cement or binder mixture being, preferentially, produced in the form of parts of layers at least 20 mm thick. The invention also relates to a refractory material liable to result from such a method.
