DISTRIBUTION OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY ", comprising an apparatus and a method for uniformly distributing an electrical charge (SECONDARY CIRCUIT 1-5) through a three-phase power distribution network. The current in each input phase and in each secondary circuit is measured by a plurality of current sensors (16-20 and 42-50). The output of the current sensors (16-20 to 42-50) is monitored by a processor (12). Associated with each secondary circuit (SECONDARY CIRCUIT 1-5) is a multi-pole switch (22-30) and a conventional circuit breaker (14). Each switch (22-30) is able to connect its secondary circuit (SECONDARY CIRCUIT 1-5) corresponding to any input phase, or to disconnect the secondary circuit (SECONDARY CIRCUIT 1-5) from all three phases. The processor (12) periodically monitors the current flowing through an input phase and, based on the load conditions of the secondary circuit, reprograms the switches (22-30) to maintain the loads of the secondary circuit (SECONDARY CIRCUIT 1- 5) evenly distributed across all three input phases. In another configuration, a sum circuit (52) combines the current capacities of all three input phases into a single summed output.
