"MATERIAL PROCESSING PROCESSES FOR USE IN THE PRODUCTION OF ROCK WOOL AND THE PRODUCTION OF ROCK WOOL, E, SOLID BLOCK". A material processing process for use in the production of rock wool, comprises supplying the material in finely divided form; mixing the finely divided material with a fibrous binding agent; and forming the mixture in solid blocks. The resulting blocks (without fines) are in a form suitable for use in the production of rock wool, and can be supplied to a smelting furnace, together with other suitable ingredients, for processing in a conventional manner. In a preferred embodiment, the material is rock wool scrap, as the already used hydroponic growth medium or small particles (shot). By using the invention, the small particles (shot) that until now constituted a waste material can be recycled and reused in the production of rock wool, thus eliminating the problem of discarding and improving the overall efficiency of the wool production process of rock. The invention also encompasses the resulting solid blocks and a glass wool production process using the blocks.
