Process for assisting mobile station with transfer-related signal strength measurement and for evaluating transfer-related signal strength measurements made by mobile station, and neighboring list for transmission to a mobile station
"PROCESS FOR MOBILE STATION ASSISTANCE WITH TRANSFER-RELATED SIGNAL INTENSITY MEASUREMENT AND TO ASSESS TRANSFER-RELATED SIGNAL INTENSITY MEASURES MADE BY MOBILE STATION, AND, NEIGHBORHOOD LIST FOR TRANSMISSION TO A MOBILE STATION." A measurement of signal intensity of transfer assisted by mobile station (MAHO), is ordered by the cell phone system for not only the traffic channel (108) and the reference channels (control) of neighboring cells (104) currently used, but also for the reference (control) channel of the active cell (106). These MAHO measurements are reported (110) to the system in which a compensation factor (112) is determined, which is responsible for the use of different modulation and / or hyperband schemes for the system's traffic and control channels. The compensation factor is calculated by subtracting the MAHO measurement, made in the living cell reference channel. The compensation factor is then added (114) to each of the MAHO measurements made in the reference channels for each of the neighboring cells, to generate compensated signal strength measurements. The compensated measurements are then compared (116) to the MAHO measurement made on the traffic channel (in view of a predetermined hysteresis), to determine whether a transfer (118) to one of the neighboring cells should be made.
