The implant has a basic body (10) inserted in a drilling in the jawbone and contains a blind bore open towards the coronal end. A distance-sleeve (30) is prevented from turning on the coronal-end edge (22) of the body. The distance-sleeve has a cervical centring spigot (44) fitting in an annular recess (14) in the body, also a shoulder (36) bearing against the edge (22), and a bore (32) open at its coronal end for the stem of the implant, this passing through the sleeve to engage in the bore of the body. A first number of locking grooves (26) in the inside wall of the annular recess extend from the edge (22) and are evenly spaced round the periphery, and accommodate locking lugs (46) on the outside of the spigot.
