Method and device for wet desulfurization of flue gas

Wet flue gas desulphurisation comprises using a scrubber with spraying devices for the absorption agent and a container for the absorption agent based on suspensions containing calcium compounds. The calcium sulphite initially produced can be partially oxidised by the oxygen in the air or residual oxygen of the flue gas to calcium sulphate. The absorption agent inside the scrubber is led in an open container and collected in it after scrubbing. The liquid level in the container is higher than the liquid level in the sump of the scrubber. An apparatus for carrying out the above process is also claimed.
