A tail piece for a supersonic sub- caliber projectile, which sub-projectile is received within a sabot which releases the projectile upon deployment from the barrel of a weapon, said tail piece comprising: at least three fins (2a) coupled to the tail piece, each fin including at least one recess (3) having a side delimited by a corresponding external fin support surface of the tail piece, wherein the at least one recess extends radially to a height (H) selected to reduce Magnus strain, said Magnus strain being generated by an aerodynamic flow appearing on a body of the projectile when the projectile is in its trajectory at a certain range of obliquity; and at least one fastening foot (7a) for coupling each of the at least three fins to the tail piece. 465 כ" ג בתמוז התש" ס - July 26, 2000
