The spaces between the ends of the rods (4) inside the screen profile are filled with triangular or trapezoidal cross-section pieces (6) whose ends lie flush with the rod ends. A joint formed between an intermediate ring (2) and a cylindrical screen comprising a spirally wound triangular metal profile (3) with internally mounted vertical rods (4) extending in the profile length direction and having a triangular cross-section. The spaces between the ends of the rods are filled with triangular or trapezoidal cross-section filler pieces (6), the end surfaces of these pieces lying flush with the rod end surfaces.
