Loading on the skeleto-muscular system is monitored continuously for the duration of a shift at a sampling rate of 20-50 Hz. For example, angle detectors (1,4) measure knee and hip movements. Spinal column deflection is also monitored. Foot pressure sensors detect the weight of the body plus any load. Measurements are recorded synchronously and downloaded later for analysis.
