A submersible vehicle lamp assembly includes a sealed lamp housing 2, a recess 22 defining a bore extending into housing 2, and one or more apertures 28 extending between the bore 23 and the interior of housing 2 for the passage of electrical supply wires or cable. The or each aperture 28 is disposed inwardly of the sealing surface 26. A resilient plug 29 has a body dimensioned to closely fit into bore 23 and includes at least one continuous transverse rib 31 protruding from the body and extending outwardly around the circumference of plug 29 for engagement with sealing surface 26 by compression of plug 29. One or more small apertures 32 in plug 29 are for the passage of the wires or cables. Small apertures 32 are dimensioned for sealing engagement of plug material with each wire or cable.
