The invention relates to the prefabrication of treatment stations for olive oil pressing effluents, comprising horizontal axis cylindrical modules made of glass-fibre- reinforced polyester having a minimum wall thickness of 6 mm, wholly manufactured in the factory, which include all the members and components necessary for complete treatment of such water, ensuring the quality standards required by current legislation. The diameter of the modules is 2.50 m so as to limit the depth of excavation. Each module comprises sections of length 1 m or 0.50 m, with an overall length of 12 m, to permit easy transport between the factory and the site of installation. The precise length of each module and the number of modules which have to be installed depend on the quantity of olives processed. The innovative features of this invention relate to the modular prefabrication of these effluent treatment units, the sequence of physical and chemical treatments recommended, the capacity and speed of installation and the factor that full utilization of the ground surface is possible, virtually eliminating any adverse landscape impact once the equipment has been buried.
