Use of sex pheromone compounds for controlling and/or prognostication of pea midge

The use of sex pheromone compounds comprising 2,11-diacetoxy tridecane, 2,12-diacetoxy tridecane, and 2-acetoxy tridecane is claimed for preparation of a dispenser for prognostication and/or control of pea midge (Contarinia pisi). An Independent claim is included for a method of controlling and/or prognostication of pea midge which comprises applying sexual pheromone compounds either as a racemate and/or as a biologically active enantiomer in a trap in connection with the field.
