A radiation-shielding material for protection against both electromagnetic radiation and neutrons contains 35-50 wt% barium sulphate powder as gamma-ray absorber, 10-45 wt% boron nitride powder as neutron absorber, 0-20 wt% active carbon, 0-30 wt% graphite powder and 0-10 wt% boron carbide powder (B4C).
