The invention relates to a method for welcoming and providing information for subscribers, in particular guest subscribers, of a mobile radio network in which, at the network end, one or more welcoming messages and a welcoming list in the form of subscriber-specific entries are stored in suitable locations that are already present or are set up separately for this purpose, and each time there is a registration request from a guest subscriber, a check is made at the network end to determine whether a welcoming message has already been communicated to the guest subscriber and the latter has received the said message properly, and if the guest subscriber has not yet received a welcoming message, or has received an incomplete welcoming message, a welcoming message is communicated to the subscriber and a subscriber-specific entry is generated in the welcoming list or, if already present, the said entry is updated.
