Method and installation for dry cooling of metallurgical slag with heat recovery - with use of trough belt conveyor for slow solidification of slag into a crystalline structure

Slag is cast in a controlled manner into non insulated troughs of a trough belt conveyor (3) for slow cooling and solidification into a crystalline structure. Heat is recovered by means of radiation panels and air flow channels located respectively above and within the conveyor structure. The claimed installation includes an intermediate slag container (1) with a sedimentation sump and a measuring probe (10), a distributer channel (2) with a burner (12), a trough belt conveyor (3), radiation panels (14), air flow channels (15/1, 15/2, 15/3), a cooling shaft (5) or a vibratory conveyor, and waste heat boilers (7, 8).
