The present invention relates to a control system of a motorized optical varifocal (3) based on a pluggable electronic card (2) to one of the expansion slots of a computer (1), in order to control the positioning the focal length and focusing range. The card developed (2) consists of a control stage (2.1) that allows adjustment of the selected focal length and the corresponding focus of an optic video camera, by driving the respective motors (2.3) having the optical . The feedback control loop (2.4) enables precise adjustment and provides user the occupied position. The system communicates with a computer through an interface (2.2), allowing an automatic mode of operation or guided by an operator. It may be noted use in security applications or monitoring, quality control, teleoperation of robotic systems and teleconferencing.
