Organic compounds produced by micro-organisms, notably Exophiala pisciphila, and their use as inhibitors of the interaction between CD28 and its specific receptors.This invention provides new organic compounds which can be obtained through the cultivation of micro-organisms, notably fungus strains belonging to the genus Exophiala and other taxonomically related strains.Theses substances are glycoprotein inhibitors, notably for CD28, and can act to disrupt the interactions between CD28 and its specific receptor.This invention also provides procedures for producing the new substances and other glycoprotein inhibiting metabolites or derivatives thereof, which include the cultivation of the suitable producer micro-organisms and the isolation of the metabolites or their derivatives from the cultures.
