An improved concrete grooving device, hand operated, easily adjusted andcomprised of a rectangular or square plate member of a non metallic, lightweight, lowfriction material that when placed on the top surface of freshly poured andleveledconcrete reduces the depression left in the concrete on both adjacent sides ofthe groovebeing formed. This improved device produces very low capillarity action andlow dragcoefficient. The need for repetitive passes to finish the concrete's grooveare eliminatedresulting in minimal bleed water, stronger concrete groove surface and reducedapplication time. This device provides for mounting replaceable spine or keeltypeblade(s) of a light weight, low friction, wear resistant material that willproduce shallowor deep, radiused shouldered grooves in the surface of concrete as it is beingpoured andfinished. The improved device's embodiment has a groove alignment sight thatwill workfree style or in conjunction with a string line in the process of obtainingstraight concretegrooves thus eliminating the use of plank type straight edges to guide thegroover.Provision is made for sighting with a pen light style laser dot generator.
