The invention concerns an air conveyor comprising a guide rail (3) whereonarticles (1) are to be suspended, and along which the articles are to betransported in a specific conveying direction. The conveyor essentiallycomprises additional pneumatic means (10) designed to generate as required aplurality of reverse air jets directed on the articles in a direction oppositeto that of their conveying direction. The conveyor in particular enables toremotely and quickly release articles accidentally immobilised while they arebeing transported, or to slow down, immobilise or synchronise articles.
