The invention concerns a method and a device for integral visual inspection and remote screening of cylindrical nuclear fuel pellets (2), consisting in: presenting a pellet simultaneously to three charge-coupled device cameras with non-interlaced scanning (1) for sensing the lateral surface image (14) and the images of the two end surfaces (7, 13); constituting a digital view designed to be displayed by an operator and/or processed by a computer and formed by images sensed by the three cameras, the display capable of showing one or several pellets simultaneously. The invention also concerns the remote handling and screening of the pellets.
