A credit card wallet safeguard system for safeguarding a card (10) in a holder in removable fashion and indicating when the card is removed. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the card holder (12) is provided as a carrying clip (12) being hinged to flip up upon card removal. The inventive system allows for a visual indication to be provided to the person using the card that it has not been restored to its holder. Optionally, a distinctive sound is heard, further reminding the card user of its removal.
