The present invention is directed to a method of determining a predisposition to or prognosis of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) in a human which method comprises detecting the Angiotension Converting Enzyme (ACE) genotype of the human individual using techniques well known in the art. By using ACE genotyping it is possible to determine whether a patient with dementia is likely to response to particular therapies.
