PEPTIDE LIGANDS FOR THE HUMAN FIBROBLAST GROWTH FACTOR (FGF) RECEPTOR

Clones isolated from phage display libraries that bound to a human Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF) receptor probe are disclosed. Polypeptides unrelated to the primary structure of FGF and encoded by DNA sequences of the phage clones that bound to the FGF receptor are disclosed. Phage clones derived from one FGF receptor-binding clone were isolated and sequenced, and a 13-mer consensus amino acid sequence common to these polypeptides, but unrelated to the primary structure of FGF, are disclosed.
