AIRCRAFT LAVATORY FLUID LEAKAGE PREVENTION SYSTEM, OR ANTI-BLUE ICING SYSTEM

Blue icing can be prevented by an apparatus inside an aircraft. A sump (30) is provided which has a removable screen cover disposed over an open-top container. The sump (30) is placed underneath the aircraft's service valve (20), between the service valve (20) and service door (78), to collect leaked aircraft lavatory fluid. A level sensor switch (45) placed on an interior wall of the container senses the level of the fluid in the sump (30) and activates a pump (31) inside the sump (30) when the fluid reaches a predetermined level. A recirculation loop leads to a three-port fluid return fitting (50), allowing the pumped fluid to return to the lavatory fluid reservoir (10). The fluid return fitting (50) connects to the recirculation hose (41), lavatory fluid reservoir (10) and to a vent hose (54) equilibrating the pressure within the reservoir (10) with the ambient pressure of the aircraft's interior. Each of the three ports of the return fitting (50) communicates with each other.
