Device for manufacturing objects in composite material by resin transfer moulding (RTM)

This new plant manufactures composites, by resin transfer moulding. Its mould (10) accepts a fibrous preform (12) which is compacted (14). Pots (16) supply the resin, which is injected by e.g. cylinders (40a, 40b) into the mould. The plant can be run in a controlled delivery mode. In this mode, resin is transferred from feed pot to cylinder and then injected, at a generally constant flow rate. The compactor (14) lightly compresses the preform in this mode. The plant can be switched (74) between controlled delivery and controlled pressure operation.
