Method and device for switching between two data streams without data loss

Both data streams (d1,d2) are compared with each other to determine the time offset between them. After the time offset is compensated for, a switch is made from the first data stream to the second data stream. The method may involve delaying the leading data steam. The two streams are compared in a bit-wise manner, e.g. at predetermined points in the streams. A switching device is also claimed.
