Described are fungi of the genus Piriformospora, the mycelium, chlamydospore and cultures of such fungi as well as substrates and compositions comprising the fungi, mycelium, chlamydospore or culture medium. Described are also the uses of the fungi for promoting plant development, growth, health and/or nutrition, for promoting regeneration of plants and for promoting germination of plant seeds.
