PURPOSE: A method for displaying name of broadcasting company in selecting channel by automatic tuning system is provided to solve the prior problems such as the controlling newly selected channel after the selection operation is completed. CONSTITUTION: A method for displaying name of broadcasting company in selecting channel by automatic tuning system comprises a first step determining the presence of ATS(automatic tuning system) code in the channel frequency presently received, a second step detecting the information related to the name of broadcasting company among the ATS codes determined in the first step, a third step displaying the information detected in the second step on a monitor as OSD(on screen display) characters, and a forth step repeating the steps 1-3 in accordance with prescribed request.
