PURPOSE: A pseudo-noise-sequence acquisition circuit is provided which uses a parallel search method in a mobile communication system using a multi-carrier code division multiple access(CDMA). CONSTITUTION: A pseudo-noise-sequence acquisition circuit comprises: a plurality of despreading elements for receiving a plurality of carrier-receiving signals and multiplying a pseudo-noise sequence value of a base station with that of a local station in an established integration section, the sequence values being included in the respective carrier-receiving signals; a plurality of correlators for respectively receiving the output of the plurality of despreading elements and respectively calculating detection energy values according to the correlation between the pseudo-noise sequence value of the base station and the pseudo-noise sequence value of the local station; a controller for comparing the detection energy values with a critical value output from the plurality of the correlators, and continuously performing an acquisition operation after phase-shifting the sequency of the local station if the detection energy values are lower than the critical value or determining a successful acquisition operation if any one of the detection energy values is higher than the critical value; and a local pseudo-noise-sequence generator for outputting the local pseudo-noise sequence to the plurality of despreading elements and phase-shifting the local pseudo-noise sequence by the controller.
