PURPOSE: A communication exchange apparatus, capable of recording sound for replacing an audible ringing signal and a busy signal, is provided to convert the audible ringing signal and the busy signal of simply repeated mechanical sounds to a desired sound by recording it a communication exchange apparatus. CONSTITUTION: If a user inputs a desired sound by operating a certain button of a telephone set after connecting to a communication exchange apparatus(10) of a telephone office, a CPU(30) in the communication exchange apparatus(10) stores the inputted sound in a sound storing server(40). A communication exchange apparatus(10) corresponding to a user receives the recorded desired sound from the sound storing server(40) in stead of the audible ringing signal and the busy signal and thereby transmits them to a user's receiver(20), if a communication exchange apparatus(80) of the other side sends the audible ringing signal and the busy signal to the communication exchange apparatus(10).
