METHOD FOR 3 DIMENSIONAL FACIAL EXPRESSION ANIMATION USING DIGITAL VIDEO IMAGE

PURPOSE: A method for 3 dimensional facial expression animation using digital video image is provided to acquire the facial expression with a digital video and information on variation with a computer. CONSTITUTION: A method for 3 dimensional facial expression animation using digital video image includes three steps. At the first step(12) according to the present invention, a warping map is created for all images taped over all facial expressions using an automatic image warping method, and the result is stored as a motion data file. At the second step(13), characteristic points are discriminated on the image of the warping map and motion data is acquired. At the third step(14), the acquired motion data is adapted to a 3 dimensional model.
