APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING VOCODER OF EUROPE TYPE CELLULAR PHONE ADAPTED TO IMPROVE SPEECH QUALITY

PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a Vocoder of a Europe type cellular phone adapted for improving speech quality is provided to offer an excellent telephone call condition by removing an error ring-back tone message that may occur on a GSM network and preventing the message from being decoded prior to being output as an audible state. CONSTITUTION: A Vocoder(230) decodes a message received from a global system for mobile(GSM) network and then amplifies it in an amplifier(280) and outputs the amplified message with an audible state via a speaker(SPK) if the decoded message is a voice message. A detector(240) detects a ring-back tone message in the voice signals decoded via the Vocoder(230). An error detector(250) checks if the ring-back tone message detected by the detector(240) lies under an error state. A controller(220) controls overall operations of the Europe type cellular phone, as well as a voice processing operation of the Vocoder(230). If the ring-back tone message of the error state is detected, the Vocoder(230) processes the received message to be mute.
