PURPOSE: A method for controlling an upstream signal channel of an LMDS(Local Multi-point Distribution Service) system is provided to assign an optimum channel by considering location information and sector information of a cell for a channel assignment request from a multitude of subscriber device. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling an upstream signal channel of an LMDS system comprises the following steps. A channel group provided to an arbitrary device is defined in order. A group of channels allocated to the arbitrary device is defined. A channel far from the assigned channel is selected when a new channel is provided to an arbitrary device to which the channel is not assigned.
