PURPOSE: An ignitor for liquid fuel engine is provided to achieve an increased reliability of engine reignition in a launch pad requiring multiple ignitions of engine while applying an energy to allow a hydrogen fuel sprayed to a mixture of fuel and oxidant to become a high temperature plasma. CONSTITUTION: An ignitor for liquid fuel engine comprises at least one first electrode(40), at least one second electrode(42) arranged at radially outside from the first electrode(40), the second electrode(42) being spaced from the first electrode(40) thus forming a gap therebetween, a unit for selectively supplying a current between the first electrode(40) and the second electrode(42), and a unit for supplying a gaseous fuel into the gap.
