PURPOSE: A method for preparing the activated carbon (referred as "AC") and the activated carbon fiber (referred as "ACF") is provided, where KIO3 is adsorbed to remove the sulfur-based unpleasant order such as H2S and methyl mercaptane (CH3SH). CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of drying AC or ACF; dissolving KIO3 in distilled water; mixing the dried AC or ACF with the dissolved KIO3; and drying the AC or ACF where KIO3 is adsorbed.
