DSP EMULATOR USING PERSONAL COMPUTER

PURPOSE: A DSP(digital signal processor) emulator is provided to overcome difficulty in using a byte type data and a limitation in downloading a plurality of download formats in the conventional hardware emulator. CONSTITUTION: A DSP emulator using the PC comprises an asynchronous communication port for debugging, a DMR(debugging & monitor ROM)(10), and a DDPS(debugging data processing software)(20). The DMR(debugging & monitor ROM)(10) executes a program downloaded according to a command transmitted from the PC, and generates a debugging data resulted from the program execution. The DDPS(debugging data processing software)(20) has a function of a target system DSP downloading format conversion, displays the debugging data transmitted through the communication port, and transmits the commands selected by a user. The DMR(10) includes a communication port controller(11) controlling the communication with the DDSP(20), a parser(12) analysing the user commands and calling routines corresponding to the analysed commands and a command executer(13) returning the command results to the DDSP(20) via the communication port controller(11).
