PURPOSE: An image search method by automatic judgement of importance based on the type and elements of a feature descriptor is provided to intensify an image search function by constructing the feature descriptor of a weight information based on the type of the feature descriptor and a weight information based on elements configuring each feature descriptor and automatically adjusting the weight value based on the type/elements thereof during every search query. CONSTITUTION: In an image search method by automatic judgement of importance based on the type and elements of a feature descriptor, the feature descriptor is constructed of a weight information based on the type of the feature descriptor and a weight information based on elements configuring each feature descriptor, the weight value based on the type/elements thereof is automatically determined using user response information, and image searching is performed based on the weight information of the feature descriptor most appropriate for searching characteristics.
