PURPOSE: A telegate, a computer and telephony integration(CTI) system and a call-processing method using the telegate is provided to set up the CTI system using the telegate at a low cost, in which a key phone system or a private automatic branch exchange(PABX) is used, to relieve traffic based upon checking the state of extension lines, and to process calls intelligently. CONSTITUTION: A telegate comprises line controllers and a system controller, and distributes calls as a comprising element of a computer telephony integration(CTI) by monitoring a real-time state of a consultant by a CTI server where state changing of a consultant's telephone is delivered. The line controllers separately manage a process for each line connected to the telegate. The system controller communicates with each line controller, while transmitting events generated in the line controllers to a personal computer(PC), and commands transmitted from the PC to the line controllers. According to the processing method for reception calls by the telegate, reception calls are processed by the detection of a ring signal and a CALLID, and dual tone multi-frequencies(DTMF) are detected in case a hook flash is not detected. Based upon a processing method for transmission calls by the telegate, transmission calls are processed by the detection of the hook flash and the DTMF.
