PURPOSE: A method for extracting non-metallic inclusions in a high carbon bearing steel by the electrolytic process is provided in which a sample is uniformly electrolyzed, an amount of electrolytic residues is decreased, and the electrolytic residues are easily separated from the non-metallic inclusions. CONSTITUTION: In a method for extracting non-metallic inclusions in a high carbon bearing steel by the electrolytic process with a sample for electrowinning being an anode, the method comprises the steps of decarburizing the sample for electrowinning at a temperature of 1000 to 1200 deg.C for 4 to 6 hours before electrolyzing the sample; acid treating non-metallic inclusions and electrolytic residues collected after the termination of the electrolysis in 40 to 60 vol.% of aqueous hydrochloric acid solution of 70 to 110 deg.C; and simultaneously washing the material by adding distilled water to the non-metallic inclusions and carbides that remain after the acid treatment and removing the carbides suspended in the solution using a gravity difference of the inclusions and carbides.
