PURPOSE: An energy supply device for an electric vehicle with a slip function and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the consumption of energy in a controller during a stop. CONSTITUTION: An energy supply device for an electric vehicle contains a battery(10) supplying main power to the electric vehicle; a controller(20) driving a motor(5) with electric energy from the battery and generating a slip control signal when a parking signal or a brake signal is inputted for a regular time to stop the battery from supplying energy; thyristors(30,31) adjusting energy supply between the output terminal of the battery and the input terminal of the controller with the signal of a gate terminal; and a gate drive circuit(40) controlling energy supply with the gate terminal drive signal of the thyristors. The controller drives the motor with the energy of the battery and stops the battery from supplying energy by transmitting a slip control signal to the gate drive circuit. Thus, when a vehicle stops for a regular time, the energy supply device checks if the parking signal or the brake signal is inputted and then conducts a slip function.
