PURPOSE: A method for interlocking frame relay service is provided to allow access to an ATM switch system without additional devices by managing a frame relay subscriber and connection information and connecting the subscriber and the connection information using an ATM PVC(permanent virtual circuit). CONSTITUTION: The process receives a frame relay subscriber registration request through a system operator interface, detects a use state of time slot in order to calculate an access rate, sets the registered subscriber information to FCIM, and outputs a normal/abnormal result for the registration process. If CIR(committed information rate) for subscriber connection registration is allowable, an identifier of ATM connection(VPI/VCI) corresponding to the connection result is created. A PCR(Peak Cell Rate) corresponding to CIR, Bc(Committed Burst Size), and Be(Excess Burst Size) is computed. The registered frame relay connection information is set to FCIM. The control process retrieves frame relay connection information based on the VPI/VCI, determines interchangeable between the connection and PVC parameter, and performs connection between the frame relay subscribers or between the frame relay subscriber and the ATM subscriber.
